After 6 months and many many hours in the making, our first iPhone application is almost ready!

Coupled with a complete revamping of the INS Omsys MLM Auto Prospecting System, this will be a business changing development for the INS MLM Omsys Auto Prospecting System and we are extremely excited about it.

We will branch into 2 different directions.

Under the Hour A Day brand, we will have the MLM Version, and under the Salesperson Dream we will have the standard non MLM version for regular salespeople wanting to control phone book bloat and know they can efficiently keep up with their calls while on the go.

After extensive SEO work on Internetnextstep.com's website and getting to 12th spot on Google for the keywords MLM Software, we are seeing that our metrics on that site are just not working to get us to the top 10.

believe it or not, we appear to be PENALIZED by Google for having so much Free MLM Training and fantastic MLM Content on that site. As a result, our Metrics for the keywords MLM Software just do not seem to get high enough to compete in google with many MLM Software websites that are very basic and only about MLM Software, no MLM Industry Support at all!

Not a single metric makes sense, they have less Link Ins, they have less pages of content, they have basically less of everything but they get into the top 10. We are thinking it is possibly due to them having mlmsoftware in their domain name.

Ok, back to the truth being good enough if that wasn’t a good enough point!

We have all heard it said time and time again, you can build a successful MLM Business in an hour a day of effort over a long period.

So where should you be after a year of learning while doing simply an hour a day of work. Oh wait… Just how easy is an hour a day? Well now here is the Biggest Truth of MLM.

An HOUR a DAY is almost impossible to do for the average person. Yes it is true, we are actually that pathetic as a race of people.

Let me illustrate with a way I always joked with my downline. I used to say if I offered someone a $100,000 reward to simply come to my home in Vancouver and sit on a Chair on my Balcony for an hour per day without fail, my money would be safe forever.

Let’s say the rules of my $100,000 reward were simple. You pick a single time between 9am and 9pm that you will come EVERYDAY. Come 1 minute late. You are out. Miss a single day, you are OUT! I do not care if your daughter was sick, or your dog died, or you had a big fight with your wife, you are out.

Notice NO weekends off! I didn’t get weekends OFF in University, why should you to take my $100,000?

No Holidays…. Holidays were just an opportunity to work or study more when I went to University, Christmas DAY included!

What if traffic was bad so you were late? I don’t care, come early to make sure it never happens, we are talking about $100,000 after all.

I bet by now most of you are thinking I am just being mean in making the Rules so hard!

Well, this attitude would sum up the problem with all the PROSPECTS out there! You all WANT the $100,000 but you do not want to do the work, or gain the education to do it.

I know you don’t want to talk to your friends or family. You don’t want to make your contact list. You don’t want to read some books. You don’t want to go to a meeting. Then DO NOT JOIN AN MLM as you will NOT be successful! There is not a Magic way to relax and get rich or significantly change your lifestyle!

Wow!!! I had no choice in University but to go to Meetings (classes) CONSTANTLY. I had no choice but to do things I didn’t want to do and I wasn’t comfortable with in order to please someone I normally didn’t even like. (Professors)

I had to do it on the professor’s time frame, in the professor’s way, EVEN if I didn’t AGREE! Even if I could prove the Professor WRONG!!! Keep in mind; I paid $750 a month for this torture!

That was hard and terrible, but you now I also said I worked to pay my own way through University. I had to show up at work ON TIME every day, or they might fire me. I had to do things I did NOT enjoy doing (like clean the washroom, we all took turns) as part of the job that I otherwise enjoyed doing. I had to ask in ADVANCE for time off, and sometimes they even said NO! Sometimes the boss would call and switch my schedule at the last minute, or try to convince me to come in on my day off as they were short-handed! I had to listen to what other people told me, I could not decide everything myself. Can you imagine???? The nerve of those employers!!!

So what about your MLM Career? I bet if you have been involved before, you complained and just outright refused to do some, many, or even ALL the things your Mentor tried to teach you. Would you ever behave in such a fashion in your J.O.B.?

NOT A CHANCE, you would be FIRED!!!

Are you starting to see just how much EASIER MLM would be if you put your mind to it?

Now here is a huge truth. It IS Possible, that MLM is just not for you! That’s right, I said it! MLM is not for everybody! Not everybody should be involved in MLM!

Just like not everybody goes to University to become a Lawyer, or Accountant, or Engineer, not everybody necessarily wants to be an MLM Distributor making $100,000 per year. Yes I know we all want to make $100,000 a year, I am just saying many of us may not be willing to learn the skills, do the job required, and put in the time to make it happen.

The difference is everybody CAN be a successful MLM Distributor. If they truly want to.

Just realize what it will take. AN HOUR A DAY for an extended period of time likely 2 years or MORE to get to that $100,000 or so in income. YOU WILL NEED to learn all the Skills you do not currently possess! You will need to spend money! You will need to use your time! You will need to do things that at first you may not be comfortable with. I do not mean something illegal or immoral, but I do mean things out of your comfort zone similar to tasks that have likely made you very nervous in your day J.O.B.

What else can you do to earn that kind of money, on that kind of time frame, with that little effort?

So you see, the TRUTH IS GOOD ENOUGH! If YOU the PROSPECT would stop pushing the friend or family member to promise you it would be easier, simpler, cheaper, or even magic, the friend who GETS it, would not feel compelled to try to meet your unrealistic dreams with their perfectly honest and GOOD ENOUGH MLM opportunity!

Now you as an MLM Company owner need to embrace that what you are doing is GOOD enough and not try too hard to put your company on the verge of bankruptcy trying to give, give, give to the level of the impossible dream. You need to steal yourselves against the member who just had one of the unrealistic prospects drill him into the ground who has come to you suggesting just how hard or impossible your MLM Opportunity is and that Fred the Hack has a better deal that promised to make his prospect rich just for breathing.

This article is written from the point of view of education for people who are looking to start their own MLM Company, though it would also benefit anybody looking to enter the MLM Industry as a Member or Distributor as well. Finally if you are just someone considering Joining an MLM, this is also EXTREMELY Valuable to YOU!

The problem the MLM Industry faces today is twofold.

First, MLM distributors often OVERSTATING the benefits and UNDERSTATING the work to be done.

Second, regular people (the MLM prospects) believing out of their own greed, unrealistic statements made by MLM companies and MLM distributors.

This is what causes many regular folks to succumb to the MLM SCAM vs. the legitimate MLM Company.

The tragedy in all this is the MLM TRUTH is good enough!

Yet every day, both MLM Company’s and even more often MLM Distributors feel they need too embellish the truth in order to be successful in the MLM industry. It is often at least partially the Fault of the MLM Prospect that drive them to do so!

The TRUTH of MLM is, if someone works hard consistently 1 hour per day over time, they will achieve their dreams in MLM.

What does this really mean?

If you commit 1 hour per day for a year to your MLM business as a simple MLM Distributor you will be well on your way to a six figure income in the next few years. Isn’t that good enough?

What else can you devote often less than $1000 up front, and likely less than $200 a month to, then commit a measly HOUR PER DAY, for a year to get the basics down to go on to a six figure income over the course of a few years?

Let’s take a look at the traditional go to university route, and see if that works?

Personally I paid my own way through all my Post-Secondary Education. I worked summers and part time while going to a Technical College called BCIT or the British Columbia Institute of Technology in Canada in order to be able to do it.

I worked about 20 hours per week in the evenings and weekends at West Fraser, a Lumber yard. This averages out to about 3 hours per day. At the same time I went to BCIT classes and labs about 37.5 hours per week working towards my Mechanical Engineering Diploma. I then did homework and assignments about 20 hours per week.

I spent just over $6000 per year on my Tuition and Books for 2 years.

So I guess you could say I spent $750 PER MONTH over the 8 months of University in a year. This did not include the cost of fuelling, insuring, and maintaining my vehicle. I lived at my parents’ home and commuted to BCIT by car each day with my packed lunch (thanks Mom for keeping the fridge stocked!).

I averaged 77.5 hours PER WEEK or an astonishing 11 HOURS PER DAY INCLUDING WEEKENDS to achieve my dream (well actually it turns out my father’s dream) of being a Mechanical Engineer! This does NOT include the 1 hour per day EACH way commute to BCIT. Yes on a typical day I left for BCIT at about 7am in the morning to start my first class at 8:15am. I seldom left before 6pm even though classes were usually done by 5pm.

Once I obtained my Diploma from BCIT, I decided to go on to a Bachelors of Commerce at UBC (The University of British Columbia). This was far easier than BCIT, but about the same price for Tuition, but I did live on Campus which I recall being Costly but do not recall exactly how much. It was only 15 hours per week of classes and about 15 hours per week of assignments or homework on top of the 20 hours per week of work to support myself. A much more reasonable 50 hours per week or 7.14 hours PER DAY 7 Days per week!

Let’s analyze a bit as to why I had to spend so much of my time and money to become an Engineer?

Truth is I had ZERO Mechanical Engineering Skills just out of High school. I had some basic building blocks like Algebra, and Physics, but I had a long way to go.

I spent all this money and time in order to get the EDUCATION I needed to become an Engineer. Should I have gone on to become an actual working Engineer just imagine how much On the Job learning I would have done for MANY YEARS working 40 or more HOURS PER WEEK at my JOB to become a competent engineer.

MLM is NOT any different, but everybody wants to BELIEVE it is.

When we say you will need to spend 1 hour per day for AT LEAST a year to become any good at it, the reason is, you do not know how to do it and you have to learn it first. Just like I had to take my basic building blocks from High School and personal experience to become an engineer, you will need to take YOUR basic building blocks and LEARN all the things you do not know about being a successful MLM Distributor over the course of a year or so with an HOUR a DAY of your time and Energy.

In some cases you will spend a lot of time UNLEARNING bad habits you have. This happened for me, I was always told I am a GREAT salesperson. I had to UNLEARN sales to be successful at MLM and learn more teaching and sharing and caring skills. It turns out in the end, MLM is not ALL ABOUT YOU, but rather how much you trust, respect, and help others.

The big difference is, as you are learning or UNLEARNING, you can earn. It may not be that much in your first year, but imagine if you netted after all expenses only $300 or so a month, would that make a difference to your life?

Did you know at 3% interest compounded annually, you would need almost $110,000 in the bank to earn the same on an investment? (This according to www.moneychimp.com)

We have not begun to talk about the personal income tax implications of now having your own Home Based Business. Often these can be worth $300 a month or so in TAXES SAVED!

Once you have a Home Based Business, your entire financial scenario changes. You can write off any losses your Home Based Business generates against your normal J.O.B (Just Over Broke) income! This often generates a hefty Income Tax Return for you each year!

Now each time you go out for dinner, as long as you talk to the waitress or waiter about your new business in passing, you are essentially doing business. This means that money you used to spend in AFTER tax dollars, becomes before tax dollars essentially saving you the tax portion on your meal.

The average North American pays 24.3% (according to www.taxfoundation.org) or more in Income tax, so a $100 dinner when you do not own your own Home based business costs you $100, but should you own your own home based business, it actually costs you about $76, the government picks up the rest for you!

Then you can claim a portion of your house expenses and mortgage interest in most countries. They key is, YOU MUST DO YOUR BUSINESS, not just signup and do nothing.

So at least a portion of the few hundred dollars per month you spend on products, telephone, internet, meals, transportation, and meetings essentially comes back to you in Tax savings, and your $300 a month NET is yours to keep!

I just had to write an article on MLM SEO (Search Engine Optimization)for Google and not only how thankless it can be as a thing to put your time into, but how utterly useless it is for an MLM Company to spend any resources on!

Fortunately for most MLM Companies due to the Replicated nature of their MLM Corporate site it is also a totally useless pursuit.

We get asked all the time if our MLM Softare is SEO friendly or Google friendly. Even though it is, it is of little use for an MLM Replicated website.

Google may index you for a few weeks until enough of your overly excited members submit their Replicated URL to Google. Once that happens, in a matter of months, you will find only your Home Page and maybe a few others rather poorly indexed on Google.

This is a result of Google being interseted in only Unique Content. As soon as a few replicated websites are also indexed, the content becomes non unique.

Now yes you can write a Robots.txt file to make Google only pay attention to your root URL, but while that may get a few more pages indexed for a while, or even permanently, in the end it could damage your MLM Company.

The reason for this is due to the fact that any good MLM Company that is using good MLM Software will not ever want to be seen as competition to its MLM Membership. As a result, you would normally disable the ability for someone to JOIN the MLM Company through your corporate or ROOT URL.

Good MLM Software will simply ask the person who referred them. Should they be from raw SEO type endeavor, they will not have a referrer and thus will not be able to join. Maybe if you are lucky after being frustrated by not being able to find a referrer to be abel to join, they may actually hunt down your phone number and attempt to get a referral to a member in order to join.

All sounds good so far right? Well first, it almost never will happen, they will just go away once they can't see what is behind door number one by trying to submit a bogus referrer (sponsor).

Secondly, should they call and ask your support team for a referral, now you have a bit of a problem. YOu need extremely good training done on your front line to ensure they dig VERY HARD to ensure this person truly did find you on Google before you refer them to anyone in your organization.

The reason for this is if you do not try very hard to ensure they do not actually belong to an existing member and have just forgotten their username, or are even just testing you to ensure you try hard to figure out who they belong to, you can establish your MLM Company reputation as a poacher.

Word will get out lightening quick and you will be sunk. No major MLM Leader will join a company that allows signups from the root domain, and in todays world major leaders have been known to test MLM Company's integrity by posing as a lost member to see who MLM Corporate sends them to.

Either way it is like a loaded gun, and sadly it is pointed squarely at your MLM Company's head.

Should you wish to get into SEO work, it is best done on a separate Marketing Site that is static and NOT replacated, and then you push the leads through an Ad Co-Op scenario and/or an AutoProspecting system in order to share the leads wtih your membership. In this case there will be less complaints as it will not appear to be corporate "poaching" and it will be seen as a positive as all MLM Members buying into the MLM Ad Co-Op could potentially share in the wealth!

So just why did I decide to write about MLM SEO? (Search Engine Optimization)

I just completed a project for a scaled back MLM Software site at: http://www.1mlmsoftware.com

The purpose is to see if I can outdo our current 12 and climbing rank on Google for the keyword MLM Software by having a domain with the keyword in it and less training and other support information on the site.

I am hoping it is a dismal failure as I want to believe Google is good and all this talk about content being King is the truth. I fear it isn't as there is not a single one in the top 10 of Google for the Keyword MLM Software that have a site as comprehensive as http://www.internetnetnextstep.com nor as chock full of FREE MLM Training, MLM Consulting, and just general Good Information.

We will see. I will keep you posted on this experiment.
