MLM Software - Japan
May 20th, 2004Link: http://www.internetnextstep.com
Well, I made it. Japan and MLM Software!
Left my house at 10:30am PST, the plane was 1/2 hour late leaving so left at 1:30pm PST, 9 hours and 45 minutes from then I arrived in Tokyo's Narita Airport. Think it was about 11pm PST. Then I got my baggage, ran down to the train station and transferred my JR pass (the best way to travel in Japan as a tourist, you can get a 1 week all you can ride pass for the train systems. They only cost about $300 and I usually get about $2000 of train riding in in a week of work here!) got on the Narita Express at 4:18pm Japan time. By 6pm Japan time or 2am PST I was checked into my hotel.
Ordered up a Chefs Salad and a pot of coffee for room service, typing a few things in here and dying to go to sleep! Now 3am my time, but only 7pm Japan time. Have to try to stay awake for a few more hours, then sleep the night and work on Japan MLM Software with our new client.
Hope to get a work out in in the morning too.

MLM Software - MLM Japan
May 18th, 2004Link: http://www.internetnextstep.com
Well, a beatiful day here in Vancouver BC today, the time of year when I just hate to leave. But leave is what I must do...
We just ran into the good fortune last night of a HUGE MLM Software contract in Japan. Our full Deluxe software and an animated Flash MLM Presentation. What a doozie!
As a result, I will be off to Japan for a week to complete the MLM Software spec, help in recording the audio files for the Flash MLM Presentation, and getting final MLM commission plan details sorted out.
Then I will be off to Australia to work with the programming team for a week or two. Rick Jewson and Jason Brindley do great work for us over there. Good old Ashley keeps them in shape! We are looking for a .net experiences programmer for the Gold Coast Australia for a 3 month employment contract. You can email me at dennis @ internetnextstep.com remove the spaces to make it work (darn robots picking my email up and spamming me like crazy!)if you are qualified and live on th Gold Coast. Our offices are in the SEABANK Tower in Southport.
So how is Japan MLM doing these days you ask? Well, it has been a wild ride I will tell you that. With the rumours that Amway Japan had its sales fall almost 80% over the past 3 years, it sounds like it could be scary over there right?
Well, here is a bit of my personal experience. Japan MLM has fallen into a bad place over the past few years but MLM in Japan seems to be making a bit of a comeback. Let me explain.
Over the past few years, a lot of underfunded junky type companies have been popping up, taking peoples money, and disappearing. Sound familiar? The same thing happened in North America a few years back, and in fact still seems to be happening a bit.
Lately, Japan MLM seems to be making a bit of a comeback to the more stable product focussed companies. Melaleuca Japan has been doing a fantastic business selling the stability concept. If they would just get with it as far as the Internet goes, they could possibly see growth beyond the 10% or more that they are so excited about worldwide. Oh, one can dream, I have never seen a company so afraid of the Internet as Melaleuca. Very strange, overly conservative in my opinion.
Other companies in MLM Japan are doing similar things to Melaleuca Japan but not yet able to match the product pricing Melaleuca Japan has.
The funny thing about MLM Japan right now is that companies are literally giving away so much in their MLM Compensation Plans that they are going out of business by over paying! Ouch! Hold off on so many bonuses MLM Japan!
The other interesting thing is MLM Japan is becoming less interested in the Hyped up North American Companies. You wanna have a hoot? Go to Japan and hear all the stories about the HUGE North American companies. They are all names you have never heard of with histories that have been completely fabricated!!!
Shame on our industry for that practice. We have hurt North American companies chances in MLM Japan for sure!
More on Japan over the next few days, as I just go MSN'd that my tickets are ok for departure TOMORROW! Wow, fast!
Gotta get organized to leave!

MLM Software - How much longer can yours hold out?
May 17th, 2004Link: http://www.internetnextstep.com
Is your MLM Software starting to cost you more to operate than it is worth.
One of the biggest mistakes we see clients make is wait too long to replace bad MLM Software.
If your MLM software is costing you more than about 10 hours a week to use spreadsheets or other applications to complete the tasks that your software can not complete, it may be time to start looking into upgrading your MLM software to something better.
Often we start on a shoestring budget and buy the best MLM software we can afford at the time, but then as we grow we unneccessarily keep using software that is inneficient for our business.
You should do a software audit in your business about 1 time every 6 months, more often if you are growing fast.
Good MLM software will pay itself back in Labour savings faster than you can imagine.
Lets say software is going to cost you $100,000, but in return you can double in size without adding any support staff, or any administration staff.
If you already have 5000 members, you are probably running a few support people and a few people in order to fulfill orders.
Good MLM Software could allow you to go to 10,000 members and not need to hire 4 new people. If your support people are $20,000 each, and your adminstration staff is $40,000, that would be an annual savings of $120,000. The best part is, you get to keep that savings year after year.
This is a mild example. We have seen much better. One company we have as a client went from 32 employees to 14 with the employment of our software. Their payback on the investment was less than 3 months.
So even if you are a company that has software, there may be a very big case to be made for you to look at more cost effective options for your software.
We can help.

MLM Truth - A GREAT MLM Presentation Helps!
May 15th, 2004Link: http://www.internetnextstep.com/training
While not being absolutely necessary for success in an MLM company, a GREAT MLM Presentation can sure help you and your team more than you can imagine.
I have built downlines in companies both with a good presentation and without a good presentation and I have to tell you it is SOOOOOOO much easier to build a huge team when your company has a good MLM Presentation.
If you company doesn't have a Powerpoint MLM Presentation or a Flash MLM Presentation for you to use, you should take the initiative and learn how to do powerpoint and see if you can't get them to work with you on it! Better yet, if you can, just get them to build one so their company can do better overall!
A good Corporately designed MLM Presentation can help the duplication of our efforts go so much more easily than if you don't have a great proven track to run on with an MLM Presentation.
Flash MLM Presentations can be great to share with people over the Internet, or burn them to a CD and play them for the people from your laptop, or even their computer. Don't have a computer, take your CD to the local Internet Cafe and you can show it there, Flash MLM Presentations are nice an simple as long as you have Flash installed in your browser. Flash MLM Presentations can go so far as to even include voice so they can take the place of showing a video.
Powerpoint MLM Presentations can be excellent for you as well, not as well suited to viewing on the Internet, but still good.
Powerpoint MLM Presentations are great for your company as they can actually burn slides and sell them to you as a sales aid so you can do perfect corporate approved Hotel presentations with just a simple Slide Projector.
If you company is interested in doing an MLM Presentation but doesn't know where to start, our company can help.
Here is a link to our MLM Presentations page for your reference. You can also use this page to take the ideas you like and build your own MLM Presentation as there are a lot of examples on this page for you. All we ask is you send us a testimonial of our website, and if possible a copy of the MLM Presentation you build so we can either just look at it and enjoy it, or with your permission add it to our MLM Presentations archive page.
Our page is: http://www.internetnextstep.com/mlm_presentations.htm and you can email your testimonial as to how our site has helped you to testimonials@internetnextstep.com
Have fun!
MLM Software - So just what products are good?
May 12th, 2004Link: http://www.internetnextstep.com/mlm_software.htm
So we have talked about the product margins of good products. What kind of products have the appropriate product margins and are there any exceptions?
Well, one of the biggest things that is necessary to run a Successful long term MLM company is that the product be consumeable, and from a regulators point of view that the product can be retailed.
Consumeable means it gets used up, preferrably something they will need to buy again every month or you have enough products that needing them every three months or so will still cause them in a cycle to need something every month.
Vitamins and Supplements are favorites in MLM. High margin, and a place where research and development allow for better product quality which can allow for a little higher profit margin to be obtained.
Soaps, Concentrated Household cleaners (keeps value up and freight charges down) Cosmetics, Diet products, Automotive additives and car waxes are some examples.
Now the retail component. Lots of companies are trying to talk about how you don't need to retail product to anyone ever. This can be a serious issue with the regulators. They like and basically demand that there are just retail customers being sold to to confirm that it is not a pyramid scam. This is an over simplification, but basic premise is true. Melaleuca talks personal consumption, but the truth is, they can also point to a lot of people who just buy products for personal consumption and never ever partake in the business, so this seems to satisfy the regulators as they are 17 years old! Maybe older now, not sure!
With good MLM Software the retail component can be easy. With our software you have everyone getting a replicated website that has a retail shopping mall. In the members Back Office, you have another version of the shopping mall at wholesale.
Depending on how you want to set things up, you can have the retail sales happen and get shipped direct to the customer, then the retail profit goes to the distributors personal account, and the points go to work against the autoship requirement. If enough retail sales are made from the website, the autoship will not be sent if the member sets his back office to be so.
This is how MLM Software can help you in the face of the regulators as you can show that you give every single representative a huge helping hand to retail products, and you can prove your retail sales easily if asked.
Well, enough for today, I will try to cover the autoship issue and the idea of virtual service products over the next few days.
